Admission Procedures

INTRODUCTION

1.1 The prospectus contains the rules and regulations applicable for selection and admission to Engineering Courses and includes the procedure for admission to all seats other than for the children / dependents of NRIs.
1.2 This prospectus is subject to modification/addition/deletion as may be deemed necessary by the Management subject to further orders, if any, passed by appropriate authorities/courts of law.

CRITERIA OF ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION

2.1 Academics : Pass in Higher Secondary Examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education of Kerala or an examination recognized equivalent thereto with at least fifty percentage marks in mathematics separately and fifty percent marks in Mathemetics, Physics and Chemistry / equivalent subjects put together or equivalent grade shall be qualified in the entrance examination conducted by the commissioner of entrance examination of Govt.of Kerala.
2.2 Age : Applicants should have completed 17 years of age on 31st December . No relaxation of age will be allowed.
2.3 Nationality : Candidates must be Citizens of India

HOW TO APPLY

3.1 Formal Application forms for admission can be had from the college office in person on payment of Rs.500/-or by post on payment of Rs.550/- by demand draft.Application forms can also be submitted along with a DD of Rs.500/- in favour of the college.
3.2 The duly filled in application along with attested copies of necessary documents can be submitted directly or by registered post with A/D to the college so as to reach the college office on or before the prescribed date. Applicants shall obtain an acknowledgement from the college for applications submitted directly.
3.3 Applications submitted to the college should be complete in all respects. The candidate should fill in all the items in the application form in his/her own handwriting.
3.4 Copies of Certificates/Documents to be submitted along with the application
1.12th /10th certificate in proof of the date of birth.
2.Mark list of qualifying examination and entrance examination.
3. In cases where the candidate claim any sort of reservation or special consideration, documents to prove such claims.
4. All copies of certificates shall be attested by Gazetted Officer/Head of the Institution where the student had studied.
3.5 Application not accompanied by documents in proof of claims of reservation will not be considered in such categories. Documents / Certificates furnished after submission of the application will not be entertained under any circumstances. Late and incomplete applications will be rejected.

PROCEDURE OF SELECTION

4.1 Preparation of common Merit list and Allotment of seats: Subject to any orders that may be passed by the courts, admission will be on the basis of marks obtained for Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry/equivalent subjects in the qualifying examinations. The marks obtained for the qualifying exam will be subjected to the normalization process as explained below:
The marks obtained by the students in the relevent subjects in the qualifying examination conducted by various Board or authority shall be equated with the marks obtained by the students of various Boards in each subject shall be equated to the highest mark obtained by the sudents of the Kerala Higher Secondary Examinations and the candidates marks will be normalized accordingly.
4.2 Reservation shall be as per principle as contemplated in G.O.(P)208/66 /Edn dated 02-05-1996, G.O.(MS)No. 95/08/SCSTDD dated 6-10-2008 and as modified from time to time by the Government.
4.3 Furnishing the false information/particulars would result in the forfeiture of the candidature as well as cancellation of admission to the course if admittedand in addition, will attract the relevant provisions of criminal law of the land.
4.4 Merit list for the admission will be published in the website/college notice boards. Selection will be in the order of merit through open counseling. The date for counseling will be published in the website and college notice Board.

ADMISSION

5.1 For genuine reasons, management will have the right to deny admission to any candidate even if otherwise eligible and such reasons will be recorded and told to the student.
5.2 Candidaes are advised to visit the website of the college from 15th May 2012 onwards and appear for interview and admission as notified therein. No separate communication will be sent on this account.
Selected candidates shall take admission at the appointed time and date in the college after paying the tuition fee and other fee to be paid, failing which the offer of admission will be cancelled.
Fees and other expenses as per Govt.norms.
wFee structure noted is subject to changes according to the orders of authorities or Hon’ble Courts.

TUITION FEE WAIVER SCHEME

5%seats of total intake will be filled under Tuition fee Waiver scheme over and above the sanctioned intake.The above seats will be filled up by Government. Students whose family income is below 4.5 lakhs are eligible for admission under this scheme on merit basis.

REFUND / ADJUSTMENT OF FEES

If a candidate leaves the college after taking admission, he will be liable for forfeiture of the fees paid and also will bw liable to pay liquidated damages.
VII. ORIGINAL CERTIFICATES

All original certificates as per para III 3.4 above have to be produced at the time of admission. Besides, the following certificates have to be produced in original. Physical Fitness Certificates.
Equivalence/Recognition Certificate of the Qualifying Examination Conduct Certificate Transfer certifiacte from the institution previously attended.

REDRESSAL OF GRIEVANCES

Any grievances/complaints regarding selection and admission can be brought to the notice of the Executive Director of the college within 24hours of occurrences of the same.

CAUTION AGAINST RAGGING

Ragging/any type of misconduct towards any student either in the college campus or outside will be considered as criminal offence and will be immediately reported to the police. Perpetrators will not be permitted to continue the studies. The Court orders related to this subject will be srictly followed. No case of ragging has been reported in this college during the last academic year.
